Retinol (0.2%)

Retinol is the ingredient with the most research behind it for skin texture and the marks blemishes leave behind. It supports your skin's own renewal, which is why the difference shows over weeks rather than days. At 0.2% it is a strength you can build up to, and in Complexion Care it sits alongside squalane and shea butter so the formula carrying it is not drying on its own.

Niacinamide (5% + 4%)

Niacinamide runs through two steps of this routine: 5% in Complexion Care and 4% in Dewy Dream. It is what makes a retinol night manageable. It calms visible redness, supports the barrier, and evens out tone gradually, working in the same direction as the retinol rather than against it.

Ceramide NP

Ceramide NP is one of the building blocks of your skin barrier, the layer that keeps moisture in. Retinol nights ask more of that barrier than usual. How often should I use this routine?

The cleanse and the night cream are for every evening. Complexion Care is the one to build up: two or three nights a week for the first fortnight, then nightly if your skin stays comfortable. On the nights you skip it, Milky Miracle and Dewy Dream still work as a routine on their own.

I've never used retinol. Is this a good place to start?

It's built for that. Complexion Care is 0.2% retinol with 5% niacinamide and vitamin E in the same formula to keep it tolerable, and Dewy Dream goes over the top to support the barrier. Some dryness or flaking in the first weeks is normal and it settles. If it doesn't, drop back to fewer nights and build up again more slowly.

Do I still need SPF in the morning?

Yes, and it matters more here. Retinol makes skin more sensitive to UV, so a broad-spectrum SPF every morning belongs with this routine. Daily Defense or Protective Power both cover that step.

Can I use this with an exfoliating acid?

Milky Miracle's 1% glycolic acid rinses off and is mild enough to pair with retinol, so that combination is fine. A leave-on acid is a different story: keep those for the nights you skip Complexion Care. Stacking a leave-on exfoliant on top of retinol is where most irritation starts.
